About

ABOUT US…

We are a family from a small town in South Yorkshire, England.

Our family consists of myself, Eve. Then there is my partner, Grant. Completing our family is our little girl, Leah, who is five years old. Oh, and not to forget, our little Yorkshire Terrier, Daisy, who is seven years old.

We are all a little bit silly, and we have a family motto of ‘Don’t take life too seriously!’. We love to get out and about, exploring anything from historic landmarks to unique fairgrounds. We also love to attend events, or simply enjoy time at home together.

Whether we are going for our weekly food shopping or on an expedition, or whether I am doing my daily cleaning routine or going on the school run, there is always something that I will write about.

WHY THIS BLOG IS IMPORTANT

As a family, we do not wait for the perfect time to get out and about to do things. Life just does not work that way. Life with kids is messy, unpredictable and full of chaos. We traded (for the most part) screen time, for countryside walks, exploring new environments and more family time. In between this I try my best to do the day to day mundane stuff that we all do. But I try to find excitement in even the little things.

I wanted to document everything we get up to, so that in years to come, we can look back and remember the things we got up to when Leah was still small. After all, we know that one day, she will be too cool to want to explore with us anymore :(.

I will also be sharing my organisation and planning methods I use to make life simpler, whether that be cleaning, planning days out or planning for birthdays.

I hope to give other families ideas about adventures they could go on together, or perhaps provide other mothers with reassurance that they are not alone. Motherhood is hard, chaotic and at times overwhelming.

We both work intense full time jobs, so we cherish out family time together. We hang up the suits and ipads on a weekend, change into our comfy’s and decide where to go next, or what to do next.

Our adventures are sometimes local, other times they are further afield. Many of them are low cost, or free (something we all appreciate at the minute, right?). Some outings are more expensive. Wherever we go, it is never really about the location. Seeing Leah’s eyes light up when she discovers something new or interesting is beautiful. Even hearing the ‘are we there yet’ chorus in the car is endearing.

Our modern lives are so busy, so demanding and the to do lists are endless. There is nothing like cradling a hot coffee, whilst walking in the fresh air to reset my mind. Although sometimes chocolate can be just as effective 🙂

When we go on an outingOur chosen destinations have nothing in common with each other. They are random, often spur of the moment decisions, and these tend to be the best adventures. So you can be sure to find a little slice of what you like when following our journey.

Whether you are a seasoned explorer, stay at home parent, or working parent trying to do it all, sit back and come along with us for the ride. We would love to see what you all get up to, and we hope you share your experiences with us. You never know, you could be the inspiration for our next adventure!

Here’s to living life to the full!
